2025 Summer Symposium Brings Together Transportation Leaders and Innovators

The Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC) proudly co-organized the 2025 Summer Symposium, led by Oklahoma State University, on July 29 at the OSU Hamm Institute for American Energy in Oklahoma City. The event began at 8:30 a.m. and welcomed attendees with breakfast and networking opportunities. OSU Associate Dean Dr. John Veenstra delivered opening remarks, setting the tone for a full day of collaboration and knowledge sharing. The symposium featured distinguished invited speakers, including Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz, Blaine Leonard from UDOT, and Max Harris from the City of Oklahoma City. With six technical sessions showcasing 24 presentations and a poster session featuring 31 research projects, the event offered a comprehensive look at current innovations and challenges in transportation. The SPTC was pleased to help bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers for this impactful and engaging event. Three OU students received recognition for their research including two best poster awards and one honorable mention.
