2026 Oklahoma Transportation Summer Symposium

We are excited to announce the upcoming 2026 Oklahoma Transportation Summer Symposium, which will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Hamm Institute for American Energy in the OKC Innovation District, located at 300 NE 9th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

About

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) sponsors the Annual Oklahoma Transportation Summer Symposium, which is hosted by the Oklahoma State University (OSU) in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma (OU). This symposium serves as a forum to discuss emerging transportation issues in Oklahoma for engineers and interdisciplinary scholars interested in tackling these challenges and to provide students with a better understanding of engineering career options. Symposium topics will cover a wide range of transportation-related subjects, such as bridges, pavements, materials, planning, construction, geotechnical, emerging technologies (e.g., autonomous driving, UAV), and environmental issues. In particular, research addressing Oklahoma's transportation challenges and topics aligned with the SPTC theme, which emphasizes enhancing durability and prolonging infrastructure lifespan amidst extreme weather patterns, are also included.

Solicitation of Presentations

Faculty members, industrial practitioners, postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate student researchers are all cordially invited to present on transportation-related research for the symposium. The symposium will feature both podium and poster sessions, and we especially encourage undergraduate and graduate students to participate by giving presentations or submitting posters. To be considered for a presentation slot, please email your presentation title, authors’ names, a short bio for the presenter, and your preference of podium or poster presentation to Joshua Li (qiang.li@okstate.edu) or Arif Sadri (sadri@ou.edu) no later than Friday, June 19, 2026. Although there are limited podium presentation slots available, any topics not included as presentations will be invited as posters. Precedence will be given to presentations within the theme areas of the symposium and based on the order they are received. All presentation PPTs, both podium and poster, should be submitted to the chairs by Friday, July 24, 2026, and physical posters should be brought to the Symposium before its start.
